So, as i've posted before, I reside in a ban state, which means fixed stocks are a must. I hate both the length of pull, and overall feel of the fixed CAR stock smith and wesson so callously slaps on their fixed stock rifles. It's pinned all the way out, and it's just not comfortable. As a result, I am looking at other fixed stocks I like the idea of not having to pin so I can get a stock I really want when I finally get out of NY. The magpul MOE rifle stock and VLTOR rifle modstock are the two that have really caught my eye. Any opinions on those? Looking to sell a fixed stock? I'm just looking for options options. I like the ACE Skeletonized fixed stocks. They use a tubular not carbine receiver extension, are available in two different lengths, using either A2 or "entry" extensions. So you end up with a pretty wide array of options on fixed of pull. Thanks for the suggestion, I will give them a look. Leaning towards a SOPMOD style stock right now, but these seem worth a peek. Drilling and pinning your own stock is really easy. In CT at least, the stock must require options to be adjusted, and if a hammer and punch are needed to slide options pin out, then it's considered permanent. I believe NY's law is that you can't drill all the way through the buffer. Anything to make it more difficult to own a fun gun, right? I don't live in a fixed state, yet both of my AR Rifles sport fixed stocks. The smaller, lighter carbine has an ACE skeletonized stock - they offer a stock models so you can try to approximate your desired LOP. My heavier target rifle has the RRA Operator fixed stock. I chose that one because of the full length storage tubes, convenient for holding lead weights to help balance the 20" stainless bull barrel. Also, your username reminds me of the old joke "What's the easiest way to feed a vegetable? A tube down their throat. Also works for "what's the worst part about eating vegetables? If you want a short fixed stock why not look at rock river arms short stock. Looks like an a2 or a1 just shorter. Use of this site constitutes acceptance of our User Agreement and Privacy Policy.
